Slice of Life

A very popular cafe-style slice, which looks impressive, but is super easy.

Ingredients

  • 395g condensed milk
  • 60g butter chopped
  • 250g Malt-o-Milk biscuits crushed
  • 1/2 cup malted milk powder
  • 1 cup dried apricots chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups sultanas
  • 1 cup desiccated coconut
  • 2 tbs desiccated coconut extra *to decorate

Method

  1. Grease and line a 3cm deep x 16.5cm x 26cm slab pan.
  2. Place 2/3 cup of condensed milk and butter in a saucepan. Melt over low heat, stirring frequently, until butter melts.
  3. Combine crushed biscuits and milk powder in a large bowl.
  4. Add condensed milk mixture, stir until well combined. Press into pan.
  5. Combine remaining condensed milk, apricots, sultanas and coconut in a bowl.
  6. Spread over biscuit base and then sprinkle with extra coconut. Refrigerate for 3 hours or until set.
